Island Wedding Venue




The Island Wedding Venue, located in the centre of the reception dam and looking directly onto the mountain, provides a perfect location for both weddings and receptions. The Island can seat one hundred people under thatch with catering provided by Dragon's Restaurant and Pub. Inquiries can be addressed to restaurant@dragonpeaks.com

Conference Centre




Our Conference Room has a capacity for one hundred delegates, equipped with overhead projector, a white board, flipchart, wall-to-wall carpets, padded chairs and air-conditioning, all contributing to a functional and productive setting for any conference. Water & Mints will be supplied.

Dams




We have four dams of varying sizes on the property located within easy walking distance from all the accommodation units and camping sites. These dams are populated with bass and no restrictions apply to their fishing. Guests need to supply their own equipment and general fishing stocks are available from the Oaks Supermarket.

We have two wooden rafts that may be poled around the dam, free of charge.
The Adventure Centre has kayaks and canoes for rent.

Games Room




For the young at heart we have two pool tables, two table tennis tables, air hockey and a soccer table.

Table tennis and pool equipment can be hired at Reception or guests are welcome to supply their own. Change is available at Reception between 8am and 5pm.

Playground




Near the reception are several swings, a jungle-gym and three trampolines. Parents are asked to supervise their children if they are under five years of age.

Swimming Pool




Dragon Peaks has three pools, a half Olympic pool with diving platforms and a 3m slide, a smaller pool with a 20m slide and a plunge and splash pool for smaller children. Parents are asked to supervise their children as there is no lifeguard.

Outdoor Lapa




A thatched braai area situated on the edge of the reception dam, with enough space for large groups or families, the facility also has a rotary spit for special occasions.

Social "Bring and Braais" are held every Saturday evening year round and Wednesday evenings during the holiday season. We supply the fire and our guests supply their own food and drinks. Meat and Salads can be ordered through the Restaurant.

Pub




With log fires in winter and air-conditioning in summer, the Pub is a comfortable and well-stocked rest point, having a pool table, dartboard and projector screen to get the most out of SA's sporting events.

Superb Restaurant




Dragon's Restaurant and Pub is situated within the Resort and offers excellent a la carte cuisine. There are enticing specials every Wednesday evening and an outstanding Sunday buffet between 12:00 and 14:30.

Everyday at 11:00 tea and scones are on the patio by the restaurant.

The restaurant also caters for wedding receptions and corporate functions

Superette




The Oaks Superette is well stocked and has a wide variety of products available, from the daily staples of fresh farm milk to the luxuries of home made biscuits, rusks and jams. The shop also has a comprehensive African curio range. The shop offers petrol and diesel, and has a FNB ATM. Freezer space is available for hire. For enquiries write to nlanham@lantic.co.za

Airfield




The airfield is situated next to the Mountain Base Backbackers and is an easy 150m walk to the resort. Guests arriving by plane must arrange by prior agreement with reception for a courtesy car to pick them up and take them back to their plane.

Regulations
  • On take off, keep clear of all properties to the right - all circuits to be flown to the north
  • Fly at or above 2000'agl in the Valley.
  • Keep clear of the Choir School from 15h30 on a Wednesday as it is their concert time.

Tennis Courts

We have two concrete courts with a thatched boma for spectators. Rackets and balls are available for hire at Reception between 8am and 5pm. There is a R20 deposit and R10 per hour charge per racket with balls included. There is no charge for the use of the courts and they are on a first come, first serve basis.    Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment.

TV Lounge

For a quiet alternative to the Pub we have a TV Lounge situated next the reception area with access to TV 1, 2, 3, E, MNet and SuperSport. An adult must accompany children.

Volleyball Court

We have a grass volleyball court within the swimming pool area.
Balls are available at reception between 8am and 5pm at a R10 deposit.

Caravan Storage

We store 200 caravans under shade cloth or galvanized iron in our two separate caravan storage sites.
  • Towing onto site is at no extra charge but should the booking not be taken up, a towing fee will be charged.
  • For a fee we will wash and pitch your tent/rally/adder for your arrival.
  • Owners are requested to carry all risk insurance on their vans.
  • One month's notice is required to remove vans from Dragon Peaks' storage.
  • Caravans can be removed temporarily from Dragon Peaks so long as the monthly bay rental is kept up to date.
  • We do not act as letting or buying/selling agents.
  • Owners are expected to abide by Dragon Peaks rules as found in the Resort rules guide.
  • Owners must use their caravans twice a year at Dragon Peaks Resort to qualify for on site storage. Should caravans not be used twice over a period of a year, owners will be asked to remove their vans January the following year.
